2015 | A Year In Review

Twenty fifteen was a crazy year for our team.  The big events just kept on rolling and us with them!  As the economy continued to bounce back, so did our company, and we had success after success along with lots of celebration.  That's not to say that 2015 was a year without tears, because it wasn't, but overall we'd call it a win!  As with any year, it seemed to go slowly at the time, but now that it's over, we can't believe how fast it flew by!  So lets recap!  Here's our 2015 year in review!

Where there are women, there will usually be babies, and 2015 was no exception.  This year one of our lead designers, Jenna Roebke, welcomed little Lincoln to her family!  A few weeks before his arrival, the TMID design team threw her a surprise breakfast baby shower to celebrate.  Don't judge us by the decorations, though.  This decor was literally thrown together in a matter of minutes while Christina distracted Jenna in her office next door so the girls could set everything up. It was a success, though!  Jenna was shocked when she walked out of the office to everyone yelling "SURPRISE!" and a room filled with gifts and food!

Here's Jenna and her hubby, Jason, with their new little bundle!

As with women and babies, there are also engagements and weddings!  This year FOUR members of our design team got engaged and THREE got married! Pictured below is one of our junior designers, Meilynn, about to walk down the aisle.  She had a beautiful evening wedding outdoors and was a stunning bride!

Here's Meilynn with her new hubby, Peter, alongside Christina and Nathan at the reception!

Even though there were babies, showers, engagements, and weddings, we were still working our tails off in the studio!  (...how do you think we paid for those babies and all their stuff, or those weddings?! )  This year we designed and installed a number of Standard Pacific models all over central Florida in addition to our residential projects!  We designed everything from outdoor spaces to nurseries, redid a few kitchens, and added lots of great lighting and wallpaper to residences from Ormond beach to Clermont.

2015 was a big year for us because we officially became an award winning interior design firm!  The owner & principal, Christina McCombs, accepted an award for Best Interior Design in the multifamily category at the Major Achievement Awards hosted by the Greater Orlando Builders Association.  It was a proud moment for all of us!

Our design team at the time that has since grown!

As our business grew we soon OUTgrew our office space so we began conceptualizing and designing our next (and FINAL) space and planning for the big move.  These are the 3D drawings for our new office space which is twice as big as what we started 2015 with!

We've started our move to this new space but haven't fully gotten settled yet.  However, we are basking in all the space we now have that we didn't before!

This is the 3D drawing of our new lobby!

What's a year in interior design without attending market?!  High Point is always a great experience--it involves lots of walking and information gathering but is always beneficial.  Since we're always scouting out new lines and design trends, we consider market a must!

Of course, what is a year at TMID without the TMID Fun Day at Universal Studios-Islands of Adventure?!  We continued the tradition this year of taking one day as a team to have fun together and spent the day at Universal drinking butter beer, checking out all the cool Harry Potter attractions and, of course, snapping each crazy moment.

Our last hurrah for 2015 was our TMID Spa Day/Christmas Party.  As our gift, Christina took us to get pampered at the Ritz-Carlton Spa for a day.  We soaked in the jacuzzi, swam in the pool, got manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials, ate together (and got practically naked together...as you can see by the robes), and did our secret santa reveal!  It was a great way to finish off a great year!

This year has been a big year for the Tina Marie Interior Design team.  As a company, we've experienced a lot of big life events!  We've dealt with the growing pains that any business deals with, experienced the joys of success, solved lots of problems, worked with a number of fantastic clients, drank a lot of wine, saw many long days and late nights, cried a little, but have also laughed a lot!  Our team has gone from medium sized to big to small to really big, we've designed and executed some pretty fantastic projects and we've moved twice!  We are proud of how far we've come in 2015 but we are also looking forward to what 2016 holds!  Here's to an even more amazing year ahead!
